SciPy is a community dedicated to the advancement of scientific computing through open source Python software for mathematics, science, and engineering. The annual SciPy Conference allows participants from both academic and commercial organizations to showcase their latest projects, learn from skilled users and developers, and collaborate on code development. Your sponsorship of the conference provides vital financial support to the community. Sponsorship provides the necessary resources to fund:
Last year we were able to pay the travel, registration, and lodging costs for fifteen community members to attend the SciPy Conference. Scholarship recipients are selected for their outstanding contributions to open source scientific Python projects, and have come Europe, South Africa, South America, Canada, and across the United States in recent years.
Each year, two days of sprints following the SciPy Conference provide an intensive atmosphere for collaborative contributions to SciPy development projects.
Two days of tutorials held prior to the SciPy conference offer expert-led instruction for users at introductory and advanced levels.
Prominent members of the scientific computing communities present their research and share their expertise in software development.
Sponsorships enable the registration fee to remain extremely affordable compared to many other meetings.
In SciPy 2011, these aspects of the conference were made possible through the generous support of sponsors including Los Alamos National Lab, Google, Microsoft, Wingware IDE, PiCloud, Github, and the Python Software Foundation.
